Bible Study For Anyone

The Almost Persuaded/ Still Searching

This interactive Bible Study is just for you! Maybe you feel that you are searching for truth that is worthy to believe in. Maybe you are even like King Agrippa (King of Judea, 41–44 ce). When he was conversing and questioning the Apostle Paul. He was very close to being convinced of the truth he heard. However;  he needed more time, so he was left almost persuaded (Acts 26:28). You won’t be judged, because we all are on a journey exploring this miracle working Jesus more deeply. Your are welcomed!

Somewhat Persuaded/ Believes But Needs Help With Unbelief

This Bible study is also for those of us who come to Jesus because we do believe, but at times we struggle with believing that the miracle we need can be done for us. In this stage we are like the father who needed Jesus to heal his son of a tormenting spirit (Mark 9:14-29). He believed enough to seek help, but his doubt was found in the statement he made to Jesus “if you can do something, have compassion on us”. This father’s little bit of belief mixed with humility opened the door to Jesus moving him into the faith that he needed to get his request answered. Jesus responded and said, “if you can! believe all things are possible to the one who believes”. Then the man’s confessional response sealed the deal on his request when he said, “I believe, help my unbelief”. Come join us and let’s increase our faith together!

The Fully Persuaded/Still Pressing & Not Satisfied

This study is for the seasoned and the fully convinced believer. However; you still realize that there is so much more to know and strive for in Christ. Like the Apostle Paul, you refuse to settle for anything less than the end of the race (Philippians 3:7-14). Jesus is your prize and reaching everything He has for you here on earth and in heaven drives you. Join us and continue the pressing with all of us.

KEY BACKGROUND INFO ON THIS STUDY METHOD

“The 7 Signs of John A tool that exemplifies the content of this chapter is what we call The 7 Signs of John. It is a simple evangelistic tool that had not even been written down until Jaeson Ma included it in his book Blueprint. 8 Because it is so simple, oral transmission of the concept has proven quite sufficient. The 7 Signs of John is based on the words that the apostle John writes near the end of his Gospel. He said, “Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed”

“The 7 Signs can be applied in any size group. You can easily use this tool one-on-one, in a small group, or even in a stadium full of people. The seven signs from John are: 1. The turning of water into wine (2: 1–12) 2. The healing of the royal official’s son (4: 46–54) 3. The healing of the paralytic at the pool of Bethesda (5: 1–17) 4. The feeding of the five thousand (6: 1–14) 5. The walking on water (6: 15–25) 6. The healing of the man born blind (9: 1–41) 7. The raising of Lazarus (11: 1–46) The way it works is that each week the person or persons you are sharing with are encouraged to read one of the stories once every day. So in the first week, they”

“read the story of Jesus turning water into wine every day. At the end of the week when you get together and read the passage, you ask four simple questions and have a discussion about the passage. The questions are: 1. What does this story say to you about human nature? 2. What does this story say to you about the person of Jesus? 3. In what ways does this story affect your way of thinking about your own life? 4. With whom should you share this story? Discussing the answers to these questions with anyone who is a spiritual seeker can easily be done once a week over a cup of coffee. Every organic church I have ever started began going weekly through these stories and simply”

“simply answering the questions. I have yet to go through this process and not have someone commit to following Christ. I am not guaranteeing you the same results, but we can take the Holy Spirit’s word for it that these stories will help people believe in Jesus. This simple and profound ministry tool crosses all cultural barriers because it is simply the Bible speaking for itself. It easily reproduces, because anyone can ask a few questions. This is not a model of church or a human curriculum. It is simply unleashing the power of God’s Word to do what it does in a life. The only way you could say that this doesn’t work cross-culturally is to say that the Bible doesn’t work cross-culturally. Even in an oral culture that is not literate, this tool will still work because it is basic storytelling.”

APPLICABLE TESTIMONY/ STUDY TOOL NEEDS- ONLY A BIBLE &  A NAPKIN

“This is an example of the sort of resource that is practical, transferable, and truly biblical. There is no workbook or specialized training needed, and it is not dependent on a highly trained person. A Bible is all that is needed. Because it is so simple, it doesn’t easily break down when reproduced. It maintains its own integrity throughout many generations and is a catalyst for transformative movements. A Jaded Missionary Sees the Power I explained all of the general content of this chapter to the missionary to Kazakhstan that evening at dinner. It was probably a lot more than he was expecting, because most American Christian leaders do not really take the time to ask these questions and find reproducible solutions. At the end of the discussion,”

“to make the idea tangible, I felt it would be helpful to offer an example of a tool that meets all the above criteria. I presented on a napkin at the table The 7 Signs of John. I thought this was the end of the impromptu training, but I was wrong; it was just the beginning. Our tour guide for this trip was a moderate Muslim. He was also clearly seeking the Lord. At our first stop I sat with him for a cup of Turkish coffee while all the other participants explored some ruins and the hot baths of Hieropolis, which is near Laodicea. I was recovering from surgery on a torn Achilles tendon and was not able to explore like everyone else, so I took advantage of a moment to share with our guide. I discovered that he had been given a Bible and had been reading it. He told me that he was starting to love Jesus. I smiled, looked him in the eyes, and said”

“clearly, “Jesus loves you more than you could ever realize.” I think the combination of the words he heard come out of his own mouth and my own confident assertion took him by surprise. He was thinking about this for several days. After our unscheduled training around dinner on the final night of our tour, the speculative missionary decided to put my theories to the test. A couple of the guys found our guide and went through the first miracle story of John’s Gospel with him—the turning of water into wine. I was not there, so I only know what I was told. The next day, after our tour ended, one of the gentlemen told me that our guide had decided to follow Christ. Then he was given the same napkin and told to bring together his family and friends and go through each of the stories and ask the same questions.

“Who knows how far this simple catalyst will bring change to a Muslim culture in Turkey? None of us are there to oversee and manage the work, but God is there, and he is very capable. There were two conversions that night at the last stop of our tour: our Muslim guide who had been searching for God, found him, and a jaded and suspicious missionary who had tried so many fruitless, American-made teaching models in the past, found one that would work.”

Read one of the stories once every day. At the end of the week when you get together in your group and read the passage, ask 4 simple questions and have a discussion about the passage. The questions are:

  1. What does this story say to you about the human race
  1. What does the story say to you about the person of Jesus?
  1. In what ways does the story affect your way of thinking about your own life?
  1. With whom should you share this story?

  1. GREAT format for sharing Jesus with anyone! Love the organic nature of the Church developing as we may continue in lockdown for some time to come. it is helping us discover that we do not GO TO church… we ARE the Church! What the enemy intends for evil and destruction, Father has wisdom to use it to give life! Every member of the body functioning! Hallelujah!
