MORE ON PROCESS
Continuing with Watchfulness:
Concerning Watchfulness / WE must continue to partake in maintaining our vessels (Oil)
1 THESSALONIANS 4:3
*“3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: 4 that every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour…”
Don’t choose to be ignorant of God’s Word and Power. Some things you must learn without excuse. Learning how to live a sanctified life that is honorable to the Lord isn’t all up to God. We must be intentional partakers in this process. However; trust in His grace when you see your imperfection, and trust in His strength, when you are in weakness. Hallelujah!!!
EPHESIANS 5:15-17
*“15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. 18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit”
2 TIMOTHY 2:20-26
“20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. 24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”
In these two passages of scripture we can understand that God expects us to desire the right character, the right pleasures, and the right path in life. Knowing and making the right choices will honor God. However; it is a blessing to know that we are not alone. He is our Helper!!!
MATTHEW 25:1-13
*“1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. 13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.”
We must be wise in these days. We must keep our lives filled with the anointing of the Holy Ghost. Our lamps, which are our lives must be ready and kept burning. Ours wicks must be trimmed so that the fire can be maintained. We must be participants in possessing our own vessels. This is our job, and must be our deepest desire. We also must be listening to the voices that cry out to let us know that He is coming. Seek the Lord with all your heart and don’t let your lamp go out!!!
Pray with me. Father, Let our hearts be watchful and our minds sober. Keep us from the distractions and deceits of this world. Give us discernment and determination to be watchful sons and daughters. Let your grace keep us from deceiving ourselves concerning the times we are living in. We want to be ready and filled with your Spirit & burning bright for you. In Jesus Name, Amen.
